I will be the first to point out that it goes without saying that nobody is going to be pulling a prisoner's fingernails out in front of a member of Congress. But it also is obvious that the treatment of prisoners--who aren't the poor bemused villagers many leftists like to paint them as--has been better than they have any right to expect.
I don't know about the memos (actually e-mails for the most part.) We don't have any names, nobody has ever interviewed any of the writers, and we never really separate out the "I saw myself" ones from the "prisoners told me" ones. A little followup would be nice. There is nothing in my mind to indicate that they are forgeries, or that the writers were lying.

Hence the term, "another view."
