Considering how much debris was hanging over the crater, what will the Deep Impact flyby probe get to see exactly? It's not coming back, and I am surprised that the mission folks were surprised that there would be so much debris from the impact. Did they really think the ice and other stuff would have just moved out of the way so that the flyby probe could image the crater?
The famous animation sequence makes the debris look like a thin little fountain.
