How many people read The Nation? How many watch the 700 Club, on which Pat Robertson said that 9/11 happened because America tolerated gays? Hint: big big win for the 700 Club, and that applies to Washington power brokers as well as the general public. Does Tom Delay, more important than a mere writer for The Nation, speak for "Conservatives" when he says that Columbine happened due to the teaching of evolution in our schools?
I'll ask you the same thing I rhetorically asked about Horowitz -- exactly who are you saying agrees with Lazare? I did not support the Iraq war, I've been a registered Democrat and voted accordingly my whole life, I'd check "liberal on a survey if asked. Does that make me one of these "Leftists" of which Horowitz speaks? Does that mean I can be presumed to support Lazare and his views? Horowitz would answer, "yes, DTB is an America-hating traitor, even if he's too duped by the Islamo-Socialists to realize that he is". Is that your view too, Tom?
I actually do read The Nation and even in their pages you won't find a consensus that Iraqis planting IEDs are noble patriots, let alone many people rooting for al-Queda. You sure as hell won't find many members of Congress who think that way; I've love to hear names if you disagree.
