This one scope would have more light gathering surface than all of today's scopes added together. I want one. Bummer that 2015 is the earliest projected date. What a wonderful charitable donation this would be for you billionaires out there reading. I'd like to build two of them and do interferometry with a 1Km or whatever baseline.
