re: Typical

"The last time I checked, Mr. Rove's paycheck came from the American people. We pay his salary...and he owes us an honest and straightforward explanation. "

So anyone receiving tax money from American public has this obligation to the American public? To come clean and owing us an honest and straightforward explanations?

So, according this idea, a reporter [or any citizen] should be able to demand to question any govt employee. And if they refuse or don't gives answers which are honest or don't seem to answer the questions, what then? Jail sentence?*
And would there really be a need to try this in court? Couldn't someone simply sign an affidavit, that said so and so govt employee had not answered questions that was in fact asked on so and so date. And that would be about all that's needed?**

Now, I'm not saying I don't like idea:). Afterall there seems to be too many people living off tax payer's tit. And if we had this kind law enforced we might get a lot them to leave government [at least those with any sense- the rest we could horse whip until they tell us the truth].
But I need more details to this plan especially in regards to enforcement- I mean if consequences is going be waving your finger at someone, this isn't going to be very effective, in fact it's going to be a waste of time- and of course, a bit childish.

*I think caning might be good idea.

**At least with the Inquisition it was limited to an appointed group of people.
