Puppy-gate scandal refuses to fade away: (UPI)

CRAWFORD, TX-- Recent revalations have re-ignited the 'Puppygate' controvesy that the Bush administration had hoped to put in the past. Newly uncovered E-mails, and forensic evidence have sent administration spokesmen into confusion.

"Puppygate" began two years ago with the accusation by a former Bush staffer that incidents of extreme animal cruelty were commonplace on the president's Crawford, Texas ranch. Specifically it was alleged that President Bush and other highly placed administration officials placed puppies in a wood chipper on the ranch for entertainment after policy meetings. These accusations were strongly denied by the administration. Documentation showing shipments of puppies to the Crawford ranch were explained as gifts for visiting Saudi Princes.

The scandal had started to fade into obscurity, but last week's 'Time' article entitled 'YIPE, just what is the DOG-GONE truth?', and recently leaked E-mails have drawn outrage from animal rights groups. Time reporter, Germaine Shepherd, posed as an immegrant worker on Bush's ranch and reports to have witnessed deliveries of puppies and kittens, often numbering in the hundreds, prior to several administration 'get-aways' at the Crawford ranch. Samples purported to have come from the Bush's woodchipper tested positive for canine DNA and blood.

It would seem the Bush administration has some explaining to do....
