Photometric observations of a very bright TNO with an extraordinary lightcurve.

Keck Laser Guide Star Adaptive Optics Discovery and Characterization of a Large Kuiper Belt Object Satellite

With a 3.9 hour rotational period, elongated shape, and a satellite this certainly marks an extraordinary and historic discovery, even if the total mass of the system is "only" 30% of Pluto.
