Ray Kurzweil's Singularity Outlook
Raybo is prognosticating 2045 for the Singularity.
But the regular doubling of computing power means computers will quickly reach human equivalence. Kurzweil estimates this will happen by the early 2030s.
I recall him predicting this event happening "in the early 2020s" back in the early 90s. In any case, this is a book from a provocative, though bit wacked, thinker that I'd like to read.
