Been there, done that
We just got through doing Moore's Law ad nauseum over at Geek Speak (you'll have scroll down to find the thread). For multiple reasons, Moore's Law is flat on its back and holding a lily. Moore's Law no longer serves as a vaild basis for extrapolating computer power. The basic premise of Ray Kurzwei'sl book is obsolete. Toss that one back onto the used book store shelf and move on.
