I didn't see Mr. Bowser suggesting its wrong to plan for four more years of war. His point was that this clearly demonstrates once again how badly the Bush administration miscalculated this misadventure.

The war IS going badly. The problem is that the Bush administration didn't plan well for any of this and is now playing catch-up.

The problem is simple. Going to war against Iraq was a bad idea. It was unnecessary. It has worked against our long term international interests.

But even a bad idea should have been executed better. The Bush administration grossly underestimated what was needed to pull this off and had naively brought Iraq to either the brink of civil war or the establishment of an Islamic theocracy. The people in Washington D.C. don't know what their doing. As a result, thousands more American soldiers will be killed and hundreds of billions of American tax dollars will be spent.

I do agree with the President on one thing though - we can't pull out. We have the finish the job we started - as painful as that may be. But we need someone more competent in the White House to pull that off. Unfortunately, Mr. Bush has three more years with which to screw things royally up. Thousands more soldiers will die as a result.
