It's like they're in denial.

Frankly, the whole thing is shocking. The stranded and trapped people, the broken homes and crushed high rise buildings. They'll have to evacuate the living, if they can find a place for them. And the levees could break under the pressure any time, killing the rest of them.
The amount of man hours needed just to rescue and evacuate the living is an historic effort that just crushes my sensibilities.
I would believe this is has been our largest natural disaster in history.

This has been the slap up the head to remind me I need to get out of Florida. I hope to have my home on the market by the spring.
If I remember correctly, FrankC didn't have a generator, so he's probably more cranky than usual (supposing he's safe and his house is in one piece). At least his daughter, her husband and children had the common sense to evacuate NOLA and I'll bet they're very glad they did.
