Imagine being the Mayor of NO
I came home from work Monday night(29th) to see what happened from Katrina and there were news reporters standing on a non-flooded Bourbon Street saying NO was spared from the brunt of Katrina as it moved eastward.
Remember all communications were wiped out and most had to rely on news reports from video phones. Also anybody on the Internet was seeing the same thing 'New Orleans Spared from Katrina'. Google those words and see what you get.
Well, if I was mayor and heard those reports about my town I would have been relieved of the good news and wouldn't be thinking about calling for the calvary. Sure there was wide spread damage but nothing like what was about to happen.
You think the federal government was a little relaxed from that kind of news too?
With the surprise following and the galactic scale of Katrina's destructive path and force the blame game could be as widespread and as ugly.
