55,000 lb Heavy...

Hi Mark

SpaceX reckon they can launch 25 tons in the Heavy version of the Falcon 9 - tho we'll all feel a bit less sceptical once the first few Falcon 1s launch successfully.

Now 25 tons is plenty for 2-person Moon-flights Gemini-style. Not much capacity for extra equipment but at c. $50 million a shot resupply missions will be fairly cheap.

Of course it does make me wonder what the minimum would be for a decent Mars-shot?
