Let's see...
I've worked in the construction industry and knowing what soaking wood
for weeks on end in water will do to that wood...Warping, swelling and rotting it.
And any use of water-logged woodframes flush [pardon the pun] tight to brickwalls
will soon cause the brickwalls to be displaced, totter, and fail dramatically in the load-bearing roll eventually.
I'm not even talking about the septic contamination soaked into the walls, ceilings, and floors; nor of the
"Love Canal [remember it?]" levels of other contaminants absorbed by the building material and home
furnishings.
160,000 homes, dwelling I'm told are contaminated?....That's over 300,000 "Big Easy" citizens who will be
homeless for some time; maybe forced to leave New Orrleans forever. That's over 2/3rds the core population of the city;
and most of that is African-American.
And did Mr. Bush say 4 years to rebuild?
They haven't rebuild anything major at the WTC site in NYC in 4 years, what makes you think he might be correct about NO?
Rebuilding NO in a few years?...
