The problem with associating Islam with terrorism is the same kind of overgeneralization that associates mere images of pigs with defilement.

I don't think it would be splitting hairs to say that associating terrorism with Islam is different than associating Islam with terrorism. The percentage of Muslims that are terrorists is probably very small but in recent history the percentage of terrorists that are Muslim is quite high.

So how wrong was it to depict a mosque as an enemy stronghold?
