the word goodies was used and I have repeatedly acknowledged that it was a flippant choice of words.
In context what I said was, Afghans are killed so frequently they are numb to it in the way that our ancestors were numbed to the common loss of family to disease. The government compensation (goodies) probably helps them deal with a loss.
This is pnly what I meant and not a reproduction of what I said . I may or may not have used the words "used to it" and I definitely used the word goodies.
