Back in the old Soviet Union (and in China, too), they used psychiatry as a political weapon. Those who opposed the government weren't just wrong, they were mentally ill! After all, who in their right mind could possibly be against the Workers' Paradise? Those who weren't imprisoned or executed were instead put into mental institutions.
This sounds like more of the same. After all, who in their right mind could possibly oppose the paradise that liberals are trying to create? Why, no liberal policy ever failed except when it was "underfunded." We just need to keep pouring more money into the programs and somehow, someday (in a galaxy far, far, away) they'll work as intended.
But then, one definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over while somehow expecting a different outcome.
