Oh, that WOULD be refreshing

Would you care to amplify your remark, and explain how a comparison between Vietnam, a foreign war with no rational reason for America's participation, and Iraq, another adventure in aggression for the US?

I am always willing to help out slow witted partisans... The two wars have NOTHING to do with eachother...different eras, different agendas, different weapons, different troop levels etc... etc... It makes as much sense to compare the two as it does when Tom points out that MORE lives were lost in single battles of other wars- when Donald makes statements like his he only invites similarly stupid statements from Tom...

Here lets try a few examples that may make you think:

Donald: " Soldiers lost in Iraq nearly equal to those that died in combat in the war of 1812!"

or,

Donald: " Soldiers lost in Iraq exceed those that died in combat in the Mexican war!"

or,

Donald: "Soldiers lost in Iraq nearly 5 times the number of combat deaths in the spanish american war!"

Tom: " Oh yeah!? Well soldiers lost in Iraq is only 1/3000 the total number of dead from WWII!"

Tom: "Oh Yeah!? More died on D-Day!"

Tom: " Oh Yeah?! It is only 1/54th of the number that died in WWI"

Scott Evil: " Stil less then the numbre of ded from the world traid senter attacks"

The statements may all be true, http://www.cwc.lsu.edu/cwc/other/stats/warcost.htm, but they mean ZIP...

This war is this war... The important point is 2000+ US soldiers and tens of thousands of Iraqis are dead for a war based on lies- that is what matters, comparing apples and oranges serves no purpose except to distract discussion from the real issue- notice hor the thread degenerated into quibbling over numbers instead of the real issue at hand?

What values would someone hold who regarded such a comparison "irrelavent (sp) and dumb"?

Yup, I spelled it wrong- got me there...

What are the values of someone that views the deaths as a 'score' to compare? 2000 and rising US soldiers are dead... I dont give a damn if fewer died in this war, or more died in that battle, THE ISSUE IS WHY THESE PEOPLE DIED!

Take your sanctimonious crap out on someone else... I am concerned about the REAL issue here- you are concerned with keeping score.
