It's not the verb tense, but the verb conjugation, that is incorrect. The use of simple present tense is indeed correct, but the plural form "are" should be replace "is" to agree with the plural form of the noun "leak".
It's Murphy's Law of Posting on Messageboards: never highlight someone else's typing/spelling/grammar/punctuation mistakes. You're guaranteed to make a boo-boo of some sort yourself.
