When Hayabusa lost the use of it's X and Y reaction wheels I figured they would end the mission soon as they would run out of fuel. But they figured away to use less fuel and still maintain stability. This is basically an automatic docking with a rock. I think they will figure out the glitch and do the deed. It maybe something to do with missing "reaction wheels" in the software.
