"fisking" means Orwellian doublespeak?
Podhoretz makes a big deal of quote Patrick Fitzgerald's caution, and it's worth quoting again:
[t]his indictment is not about the war. This indictment is not about the propriety of the war. And people who believe fervently in the war effort, people who oppose it, people who have mixed feelings about it should not look to this indictment for any resolution of how they feel or any vindication of how they feel.
This is simply an indictment that says, in a national-security investigation about the compromise of a CIA officer’s identity that may have taken place in the context of a very heated debate over the war, whether some person—a person, Mr. Libby—lied or not.
Evidently you and the Pod think it doesn't apply to you, the way you're desparately seizing upon the indictment of the Veep's chief of staff as if it somehow exonerates the Bush Administration of the charge of leaking Plame's identity to the press.
Man, get a grip! Scooter's charged with lying when he denied being the leaker. He lied when he claimed that he learned of her identity from reporters, and the testimony of multiple reporters agrees that they heard it from Libby. Now, Scooter was a member of the Administration's inner circle. Are you following this? The indictment says that the Bush Regime did indeed leak that information.
The Big Lie is alive and well and prospering in the RightWing.
