These last few years it seems that the list of where life cannot form is getting shorter and shorter. Not only conditions such as acidic pools, under miles of rock, the deep deep ocean next to boiling hydrothermal vents, and even deep space, but also around stars formerly thought not to be able to sustain life, such as red dwarfs. And we are only talking about life as we currently know it from organisms on Earth.
Maybe it shouldn't, but it still gets me how it is the year 2005 and there are still plenty of people who think that a supernatural being made everything and punishes people as a group with storms and earthquakes.
If someone or something did create this Universe, it will not be the kind of "god" they think it is.
Today is Voltaire's birthday. This quote I found sums things up pretty well:
"Men will always be mad, and those who think they can cure them are the maddest of all."
Voltaire, 1762
