Quick question

I've wondered what units you end up with when you square C. Now I see it's joules. I understand the definition but I don't understand the units m2/s2

On the face of it, it looks like you have an area (square meters) undergoing an acceleration, like that of gravity- 10m/s2?

Can you shed some light on this?
