Circum-lunar
Hi JimO
Do you think they might try for the less ambitious goal of doing a circum-lunar flight? If they want to play the international cooperation game they could plan a hand-shake in lunar orbit with a Russian Soyuz or Kliper. It'd certainly make the US look silly for them to do so before the current Space Exploration plans are even partly underway and the US is still buying Soyuz flights to the ISS.
