"Bottle rocket?!?"

Heard on ABC radio news about an airliner leaving LAX over the water that reported a "rocket" of some kind in its vicinity. The FBI now says it was a "bottle rocket" or "flare." The airplane was at over 6,000 feet at the time. This is from memory, so more to come.

I can find NOTHING on written news reports on this, but have just started looking.
