re: Housing Bubble... Not in my neighborhood.

Scott, it all sounds great and it's very intoxicating to think that all we have to do is continue to grow to survive but it just doesn't pan out. You're saying that those 150,000,000 are all going to get high-tech jobs? Man, the market on those is about stagnant now. High tech jobs are still nothing more than a service sector position and history has shown that societies don't flourish on those. Where's the new manufacturing jobs? Where's the increased production of oil, the new discoveries of natural resources?

I think the world has grown enough. I enjoy a little space between me and my neighbor. I hate the crowded roads and highways. The current economic model is fueled by continual growth but our survival depends on that growth being slowed or stopped eventually. Maybe it's time to change the economic model.

There's talk about the oncoming world pandemic. It would seem to me that societies where there's some space between people would be the ones least effected by a virus spread by human contact.

As an atheist, my life after death is the survival of my children, grandchildren, and the human race. Maybe it's time for a little humility and common sense.
