People who have served in the military, combat or not, voted for Bush over Kerry 57 to 41 percent. I think you're going to find this gap increasing as veterans of the Gulf War and Iraq period start to make a bigger dent in the statistics than veterans of Vietnam.
Believe me, the Democratic Party is making few friends among the military personnel over in Iraq. You're just lucky there aren't that many of them.
