It allows business to bypass the annoying and unprofitable checks and balances of a free market. It is something every Republican lobbyist and corporate executive knows, but which doctrinaire conservatives refuse to see. When commercial personalities and entities gain control of the state machinery and bend it to their ends, the result is fascism. But the fascists call it "freedom". 8)
