I'm sure many blacks see these "examples" a less than shining.
But why does it matter really...Tookie will be forgotten by the end of the week. And its a good thing.
I don't know of anybody who thinks Richard Prior was a role model...
He was funny. I'm sure he was a nice guy. But nobody denies he had failings and I don't think you could find many people who would want their kid to grow up to be Richard Prior. His life was really kind of a sad statement on the false promises of drugs...
People who do (or sell) drugs tend to end up dead...Just like Tookie.
Maybe my view will change after Richard Prior: The Movie.
