Agreed.

2 Terms in the Senate
6 Terms in the House

We also need term limits on Federal Judges. All Federal Judges are appointed for life. I do not like the idea of ANYBODY ever holding an office for life. My idea is simple. Each position on the Supreme Court becomes vacant each nine years, staggered. Therefore, exactly ONE Supreme Court Justice will be appointed each year (not counting death, resignation, & impeachment). Each SC Justice would serve for nine years, after which he/she would be prohibited from serving again EVER. The senior (by tenure, not age) Justice would automatically become the Chief Justice for the last year of his term. The same thing would hold on ALL Federal Courts. Nine years and you either get appointed to a position on a higher court, or out you go to retirement or private practice.

In all of the above, half a term or more counts as a complete term, less counts as nothing.

So a person could be appointed to serve the 4 remaining years of a 9 year term when a previous justice retired or died, and could then serve a complete 9 year term.

A senator could serve anything less than 3 years and could still serve 2 full 6 year terms.

A representativie coud serve anything less than 1 year and still be elegible for 6 full 2 year terms.
