That would be great, and I hope it's so, but I don't have the confidence in the strategists at the White House to believe that they'd try such a ploy.
I suspect they're reacting to political pressure, rather than applying it. Trying to get (or keep, depending on whose poll you watch) that approval rating up over 45%.
