So blowing them to hamburger is better than blinding them?

Look, most weapons are designed to kill. If some laser weapon that fries an enemy blinds someone fifteen feet away because they weren't quite on the precision kill zone, I'm not sure that's a worse outcome than being spread across the outer five yards of a sixty-foot bomb crater.

I don't know how to deal with this kind of thinking. Even if every anti-terror procedure we used across the world involved only using policemen, there would still be gun battles, at the least, and someone who was not guilty would be likely to get hurt.

Maybe someday we'll have something like the Hound from "Fahrenheit 451," a robotic weapon that cruises through the villages at night under a cloaking field, sensing the genetic signature of a single target, and dispatching them with a painless lethal injection, or stunning them and bringing them back for justice. Until then, we need to use force at some level, or surrender to people who are not at all afraid of collateral damage.

Anything that helps the precision of an attack is a plus.
