That's probably what this criminal is up to and maybe he's playing a nasty game of brinkmanship. However he and others are on record as promoting destruction and devastation of another country or countries. It looks like they have a plan. Either it is a Hitler-like plan of conquest as Merkel says or it is some bizarre chess -like manoevre to position Iran as the leader of pan-Arabism (even though they're apparently not really Arabs - however Islam serves as the politically unifying force anyway)

Now, the diff between Iran and the USSR and China is that the 'dungeon masters' (nice metaphor BTW Art), or the Tsars and Chinese Emperors before them, were simply never prepared to fall over the brink, they were too concerned with their own self-protection. Either this guy is of a new, particularly virulent and insane variety (just like Hitler, whose regime was ultimately also suicidal), or else he's playing a game of nasty and subtle chess. Whichever it is - we will have to deal with it.

Iran does ***NOT*** have the same right as other countries to nuclear weapons as it has clearly and loudly asserted its intentions to initiate action to destroy its perceieved enemies. NOT an equivalence there, mate. Even given Hiroshima.
