Yeah, I saw that too. But it wasn't a slip. Instead it was "you know the NYT or some other dimwits are probably going to come to conclusion [or pretend to come to the conclusion] that Gonzalez said US intel community isn't montioring in anyway potential terrorist who are the US talking to other terrorist in the US. THEREFORE I better make sure I dot my "i's" and cross my "t's" or I will have explain to my boss why my direct quote [though out context] is causing a huge news flap."
This of course this "would have" been a "BIG STORY"- because basically it would obviously mean that homeland security wasn't doing enough to stop the next terrorists attack.
