No help. Used to play a bit of raquetball, knew an old man who would stand in the center of the court and chase me all over. (Had to give it up - have a bad wrist from a motorcycle accident in college. Drunk, 1:30AM running away from a cop, went around a corner in rain, hit a railroad track. Bike slid under a PU, I slid under a car, cop came around the corner apparently looking down the street, neither saw nor found me. It's not always like "COPS". Broke my wrist, wasn't ever taken care of, have two bones where there should be one.)
Used to abuse prescription narcotics. My best friend is 6'6", was an all-State basketball player two years. We worked together for a while and would often play tennis on his court. Tennis, and bowling, were the only things at which I could beat him. (He was too smooth bowling, would lay that ball down at what seemed like 98 mph and poke holes. My wobblers were much more efficient at knocking down pins.)
When I was clean I'd feel as if I would play poorly, and win 2 sets out of 3. Loaded I'd play brilliantly, I'd think, and lose 3 out of 3.
Steroids would certainly improve performance, though are hard on mood and aggressiveness. If I ever go back to a mountain over 20,000 feet I'd like to take some of the hemoglobin enhancing drugs. Breathing gets to be a bit hard up there. A lot hard. Would have to get 'em in Mexico, not a bad trip in itself.
