Lots of poetic justice. Like the unanticipated side-effect of gerrymandering: It gave the Tea Party a powerful lever by making the primary all that matters in a safe seat. All of a sudden that scarlet "R" next to a name on the ballot is a bullseye for extremists.

Who said there's no justice?
