I remember quite well how Reagan, Jack Kemp, and other conservatives were treated by Democrats and liberals in their heyday.
I also know how fervently the airbrushers have tried to portray what swell pals the Democrats and Republicans were in those days. Not like now--so much "unprecedented hostility."
This propaganda probably works just fine on the young. Someone who was ten when Clinton was first elected is over thirty now.
I was there. I remember things differently.
If someone showed up now with Reagan's ideas and philosophy, the Democrats would tear his throat out. I'm watching what's happening right now to Republicans in that same ideological category.
