...seems to be the position that the Tea Party's approach to governing is superior to that of the traditional Republican establishment. That tantrums and fiscal hostage-taking are the proper way to govern? That laws passed by the book, reviewed by the Supreme Court, and validated in elections framed as referenda on those laws, mean nothing before the fury of a small minority of extremists willing to put a gun to our heads?
Even if you think any of that is ethical behavior for "patriotic" Americans, you're going to find that that approach is suicidal in the long run. You really should study today's NBC/Wall St. Journal poll. The message is clear: Normal people outside the rightwing bubble have had enough of the right's increasingly dangerous batshit craziness. Simple as that.
Pay particular attention to page nine, and the question "What is your preference for the outcome of NEXT year's congressional elections -- (ROTATE:) a Congress controlled by Republicans or a Congress controlled by Democrats?"
Bruises like that aren't going to fade by 2014.
Self-inflicted bruises.
