The poll respondents were 43 percent Democrats (or leaning that way), 32 percent Republicans. 44 percent voted Obama, 35 percent Romney. Maybe there's your eight points? Just a thought.
Other interesting parts:
It's still 43 to 38 against Obamacare.
70 percent say the Republican motive in this fight is to put their political agenda over the good of the country, but 51 percent say that of Obama, too.
My personal favorite: "If there were a place on your ballot that allowed you to vote to defeat and replace every single member of Congress, including your own representative, would you do this, or not?" 60 percent said yes.
I kind of like the Clinton poll comparisons. Useful information.
It's also occurred to some of us that polls might be slightly influenced by the continuous anti-Republican media barrage.
