Yes, Andrew Hamilton is one of the main pioneers of this stuff, along with Werner Benger, and others including a guy called Odegaard (from Denmark), whose PhD thesis is occupying me these days.

Couldn't read the article though .. can't be bothered registering. Could you post an excerpt?
