Other films where WTC was the "star"
The 1976 comedy Drive In had a send-up of all the
disaster movies that were prevalent in those days.
Part of the "plot" included an obvious model of a
jetliner smashing into one of the towers.
The 1979 film Meteor showed the WTC getting fried
by pieces of the approaching Big One in its posters.
And the pilot epsiode of The Lone Gunmen (the spin-off
from the X Files) in early 2001 had as its plot a plan to
smash jetliners into the WTC bring the US into a war.
Does The Towering Inferno count?
