Moving goalposts
We've spent a couple of years listening to the anti-war people declare that there were NEVER any connections between al Qaeda and Saddam. In fact, it was declared that it would be impossible, since Saddam was secular, and al Qaeda was fundamentalist, and would be mortal enemies for all time.
The anti-war people I've checked out on the internet have slid smoothly and without any noticable effort into their new position, which is that of COURSE Saddam had connections with al-Qaeda, but not since the 90s.
