At least it wasnt potentially fatal....

I have been in a sealed room when the fire suppression system went off- it was FM-200, essentially Halon (It went off due to a series of failures... a flame sensor malfunctioned and apparently detected a sodium lamp as a flame... then the safety system was incorrectly programmed, it was supposed to need 2 flame sensors to go off before it released the FM-200... It is the only time we have had a real safety investigation on the laser since I was here- had I stayed in the room I would have suffocated)

I dont know if you have ever had your eyes flushed at an emergency room, but it is far more horrific than it sounds... that experience was FAR worse than having FM-200 sprayed in your face.... The FM-200 only left a bad taste in my mouth, the eye flushing was torture.... they put a 'contact lens like' cup on my eyeball with a tube coming out the center - attached to the tube was 1-2 liter bag of COLD saline......

I got one bag per eye, every time I tried to blink it felt like my eyeball would pop out- the only effect I had from the FM-200 was a slightly peppery taste in my mouth, the eye wash was, by far, the worst part of the experience....

I was able to go back to work the same day and give a report of what happened- and bitch about being sent to the emergency room against my will....
