What if a "larger" shake hits SF?

The tremor that hit San Francisco in 1906 was only 7.9
on the Richter Scale.
What if a 9.0 seismic event shook San Francisco today?
Nick may correct me if I'm wrong, a 9.0 Richter Scale shake
has twenty times more energy than a 7.9 seismic event.
With a 9.0 event, there may be horizontal displacement of 100 meters, like
they had in Indonesia in 12/04.
Worse!...What if the vertical displacement was the same?
Silicon Valley may find itself beneath the waves in that type of event,
aslong with 1000's of bodies.
