Just a couple thoughts from a layman.
The velcro idea sounds good for walls and ceilings - easy storage for all kinds of equipment, but I would imagine that the force it would take to remove a boot attached to the floor velcro would cause more clumsiness and increase the chance of falls. The idea of adding weight to oneself may be a good solution, but this would diminish an individual's usefulness and ability to move large objects.
How about a feasible set of George Jetson's Jet Boots?
These could really help with transportation and the nozzles could be adjustable in order to create some downward thrust - hopefully without burning one's face off! - to keep feet on the ground only when necessary.
How about employing a modified two wheeled machine like the ones that were introduced a couple years ago for sidewalk use, only with additional weight. I forget the name offhand. These could be used for basic indoor transportation and I would assume that they would require far less power in 1/6 G than here on Earth.
