Joy? Not.

I can imagine the feeling; I'm running from it.
I just can't take the anxiety these enormous storms produce.
As it grows hotter here in Florida, I look around at the packing situation, and realize I have yet to list the house, OR find a place to move to. All that happens next month.

Just get the important stuff together in case you have to get out. If you're further away from the coast, you have a better option to get out on the back roads IN CASE a Category 4 is coming. I worry about my kids who are staying behind, but hell, they're young and they don't own anything except their vehicles. It would be an "adventure" for them.
Am leaving my son the generator, window AC unit and gas camping stove.

Oh, I can do the aftermath allright, it's the heat that gets to me during the day, the trees in the road, the downed powerlines, etc..... but the worse part is running around like a frenzied rat getting all the preparations done and clearing my yard and back porch of all those lovely things that bring me so much joy......and then there's the screaming terror of the wind shrieking over your head and ripping your house apart. Yeah, those are the memories.

And we've only had 125 mph. sustained winds here. Can't imagine 140, or even 180. Yech!
Do you have a place to go in case you have to get out?
