is you want to tax a company for making too much money in your opinion but you are limiting it to the oil companies.
I can tell you first hand that oil companies are increasing their production capabilities. I have an on going contract with one of them and was told they are turning 100 acres that currently was used for other operations into fuel production units and my services will be needed in conjunction at near completion. The cost is in the hundreds of millions of dollars. Oil companies have been enlarging their production capabilities for years to meet the ever-growing demands.
There’s a study done by the Congressional Research Service that says the windfall tax didn’t help consumers. Oil companies look for other ways to make profits that won't be taxed like overseas markets.
How do you think gas prices would go down by implementing a windfall tax?
