Another alternate history that I find fascinating stems from the fact that it wasn't written in stone that the US would eventually side with GB, especially in WW1. If the Germans had been a little less psycho, or had understood that telegrams weren't necessarily a secure method of communication, things certainly could have had a different outcome.
