I am OUTRAGED

One does not usually become outraged until one believes that the event is real. Perplexed at the possibility maybe, outraged, no.

I would have no problem with any of the silliness you throw out if you showed any skepticism at all. You usually leave no doubt that not only are you throwing it out for our consideration, you also believe every word of it.

Backing down after the fact does not cure the original impression.
