Thank you. Next Question: is rotational velocity a function of degree of ellipticity, or for that matter, has anyone plotted rotational velocity as a fucntion of spiral pitch angle? Do Sa spirals spin faster than Sc spirals? What is the effect on spin of barred spirals? Lots of good thesis topics here for grad students, and the data has probably already been collected, no need to petition for telescope time.
